Starbucks Chief Second-Guesses Healthcare Law

Howard Schultz, the CEO of Seattle-based Starbucks Coffee, is now questioning a key component of President Obama’s healthcare reform law.

In an interview with The Seattle Times, Schultz, who the White House once consulted during its push to pass health reform, said that the law’s mandate on individuals and businesses to purchase health insurance starting in 2014 is burdensome.

“I think as the bill is currently written and if it was going to land in 2014 under the current guidelines, the pressure on small businesses, because of the mandate, is too great.”
