Michael Hastings, the journalist whose articles in Rolling Stone Magazine led to General Stanley McChrystal’s ouster and an investigation of a top U.S. General, reportedly told members of Congress Wednesday that the current Commander in Afghanistan, General David Petraeus, is mimicking unbalanced actor Charlie Sheen.
Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.) said on the House floor Wednesday that Hastings told a Congressional panel, “General Petraeus is giving us the Charlie Sheen counter-insurgency strategy, which is to give exclusive interviews to every major network, and to keep saying ‘we’re winning’ and hope the public actually agrees with you.”
