Tim Kaine, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is “increasingly likely” to make a Senate bid in 2012, according to a statement released by Brad Woodhouse, a DNC official.
“He has the support that would be necessary to mount a successful campaign,” Woodhouse said.
Kaine served as Governor of Virginia from 2006-2010 and, if he enters the race, will be running for the seat vacated by retiring Senator Jim Webb (D).
