The Senate voted Wednesday to repeal a controversial provision in the health care reform law that would have required small business owners to file 1099 forms with the IRS for any purchase over $600.

The repeal of the specific provision came in the form of an amendment to the FAA Reauthorization Act. The final vote came in at 81-17.

Both parties have spoken out against the provision, including President Barack Obama, who mentioned the requirement in his State of the Union address as an issue that both Democrats and Republicans could agree on.
