The man convicted of killing congressional intern Chandra Levy was sentenced to 60 years in prison early Friday.
Ingmar Guandique, the undocumented immigrant from El Salvador, insisted to a District of Columbia Superior Court that he was innocent, saying “I had nothing to do with it, I am innocent.”
The case garnered national attention when then-Rep. Gary Condit became a suspect in the case and only lost its buzz after the events on September 11, 2001.
