The House will look at a measure today aimed at preventing a federal government shutdown.
The $1.1 trillion continuing resolution would fund the government through the end of September of next year. The House must pass the legislation by the end of this month in order to avoid a potential lockout.
The continuing resolution is also needed due to the House’s inability to pass a budget this year.
Aides to Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said early Wednesday that the House would try and get the measure included in a Senate omnibus appropriations bill.
