Republican candidate Joe Miller’s campaign is asking Alaska’s Division of Elections for a hand count of the ballots cast in the state’s Senate race, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
Miller’s camp is reportedly basing the request upon concerns over the state’s computer-based voting system.
The move comes shortly after Miller filed a lawsuit aimed at preventing the state from accepting misspellings of his opponent’s, write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski, name.
Murkowski is currently leading in the race with 10,400 write-in votes.
