The Ohio Democratic Party, along with representatives from the United Steelworkers are calling for the removal of an ad put out by Congressman John Kasich(R) in which an actor portrays a steelworker.  Kasich is running for Governor against incumbent Ted Strickland (D), and the two are set to face off in a final debate Thursday night.

“It is clear that once Congressman Kasich couldn’t find a single real steelworker to support him in an ad, he resorted to his Wall Street ways and paid someone to do it,” said Chris Redfern, Ohio Democratic Party Chairman in a press release, “Unfortunately, the ad misrepresents the views of steelworkers throughout Ohio, many of whom have lost their jobs due to the devastating trade deals that Kasich supported in Congress.”

Chip Redden, the actor in the commercial has appeared in independent films, commercials and was an extra on ABC’s Lost.

Kasich holds a 50-41 percent lead over Strickland, according to a poll put out by Quinnipac University
