Frank Caprio, the Democratic nominee for Governor of Rhode Island, had some choice words for President Barack Obama during an interview on a Providence radio show this morning.
When asked about the President’s decision to not endorse Caprio, the gubernatorial hopeful fired back by saying, “He can take his endorsement and really shove it as far as I’m concerned.”
Obama will travel to Rhode Island today to visit a factory in Woonsocket and to raise money for Democratic congressional candidates. According to the The White House schedule, however, there are no planned events to campaign for Caprio, who is locked in a tight battle with former Republican Senator Lincoln Chaffee, now an Independent.
