Space travel may sound like an expensive venture, but CNN reports that the new age thrill ride will now cost consumers a mere $102,000.

Russia charges travelers $40 million to ride on its Soyuz spacecraft and spend a few days aboard the international space station and Virgin Galactic’s suborbital space trip is running “amateur astronauts” $200,000. A new deal from Space Adventures has slashed the cost of the trip and now runs consumers $102,000, giving would-be fliers a chance to see earth from 62 miles above its surface.

Plummeting prices in the cost of modern day space travel is giving people incentive to take out mortgages so that they too can become part of a not-so-elite group.
