President Barack Obama addressed a group of 225 young people Thursday during a townhall style meeting broadcast on three cable networks, including MTV.

The audience, picked via a casting call website, asked the President questions on topics ranging from partisan bickering to immigration and healthcare reform.

The program, entitled “A Conversation with President Obama,” is the latest from the President in a series of youth-oriented appearances. Earlier in the week, Obama held a similar discussion at D.C.’s George Washington University with students and last month the President attended a large rally at Madison University in Wisconsin. Although Obama seemed to avoid directly soliciting votes during Thursday’s conversation, past events have been interpreted as a move to enthuse the youth vote in the lead-up to the midterm elections.
