Rep. Allen West (R-Fl.) sent Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fl.), the chair of the Democratic National Committee, an angry email Tuesday, describing the fellow Florida lawmakers as “the most vile, unprofessional and despicable member of the U.S. House of Representatives.”
The email, obtained by Politico, was in response to comments Wasserman Schultz made on the House floor decrying his support of the Republican “Cut, Cap and Balance” bill. She said that it “unbelievable” that a member from senior-heavy Southern Florida would support legislation that would cut Medicare.
“If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up,” West said in the email, which was also sent to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and House Minority Whip Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)
West closed the email by stating “you have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady” and that Wasserman Schultz “shall not be afforded due respect from me!”
