House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is not amused with the proposed short term spending bill Republicans have dubbed the “Troops Bill,” due to provisions that would fund the Pentagon through September, describing it as “unworthy for the sacrifice of our troops.”

Democrats and Republicans are being forced to hash out their differences on over spending bill in what could end with a government shutdown.

Pelosi predicts a strong Democratic opposition to the short term measure, and hopes “that the president would veto that bill.”

If passed, this would be the third temporary spending bill Congress enacts to prevent a government shutdown.

Opposition remains strong against the bill, which contains an additional $12 billion in spending cuts and includes provisions barring the use of federal or local funds for abortion services in Washington, D.C.
