White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs will give his final briefing Friday.
Jay Carney, a member of Vice President Joe Biden’s communication team, will be stepping in at the podium next week.
Gibbs has been with the White House since Obama assumed the presidency. He worked with the President on the 2008 campaign and was in his Senate staff.
