The State Department is removing all non-emergency personnel from Egypt as the country continues to grapple with mass protests.

The announcement came Tuesday morning in a statement from the State Department’s spokesperson Philip Crowley.

Crowley added that the Department will continue to help U.S. citizens who need assistance evacuating the country and noted that concerned families should email EgyptEmergencyUSC@state.gov or call 1-202-501-4444.
