Report: Carney Will Replace Gibbs As White House Spokesman

Jay Carney, Vice President Joe Biden’s communications director will replace White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs this week, according to CNN.

Gibbs has served as Press Secretary since the beginning of the Obama presidency. Prior to joining the White House, he was an integral member of Obama’s Senatorial and campaign staff.

Once leaving the White House, Gibbs, who announced his departure last month, is expected to join the 2012 campaign.

Carney is a former Bureau Chief for Time Magazine.
