The Obama administration is launching a series of initiatives aimed at helping military families cope with psychological and fiscal issues.
“The readiness of our armed forces depends on the readiness of our military families,” Obama said Monday during remarks from the White House.
In addition to expanding access to mental health services, the initiatives will also focus on improving the educational prospects for servicemembers’ spouses and children and ensuring the availability of quality childcare.
The new initiatives will rely on the cooperation of each cabinet secretary, who each signed pledges. According to the White House, 50 agencies have committed to the project.
