Iraqi Security Forces, U.S., Kill Two Terrorist Leaders

The Pentagon confirmed the deaths of Abu Ayub al-Masri and Abu Omar al-Baghdadi Monday, two extremist leaders from al Qaida.

The two were killed early Sunday morning during an operation led by the Iraqi Security Forces with U.S. assistance six miles from Tikrit.

Both leaders have previously been reported dead or captured several times by the al-Maliki government since 2007, but a Pentagon spokesperson told reporters Monday that he is confident the report is accurate.
