House Republicans’ transition to majority status will be helmed by a 22 member team compromised of both veteran members and newcomers.

Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.), the Transition Committee’s chairman, told reporters Thursday that they will have an eye on increasing transparency and efficiency within the governing process.

Walden emphasized that the tenets of the recently released Pledge to America agenda would also be addressed, including the promise to publish bills online three days prior to a vote.

However, the team’s specific goals have not yet been fully hammered out. For instance, Walden would not name any changes the team would make in day-to-day operations or answer whether or not Republicans would free up resources by cutting the GOP Conference’s staff.

The team is set to meet next week, although the specific members have not been determined since Walden and his staff are still attempting to contact prospective Republicans. In addition to the team, Walden said that a suggestion box could be set up at the Capitol to solicit input on how to manage the House.
