Vice President Joe Biden will campaign for Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson during his trip to Florida Monday.
Grayson, who was elected in 2008, has come under scrutiny for a campaign ad that refers to his opponent, Republican Dan Webster, as “Taliban Dan.”
“Religious fanatics try to take away our freedom, in Afghanistan, in Iran and right here in Central Florida,” the ad states. “Daniel Webster wants to impose his radical fundamentalism on us.”
The nonpartisan site FactCheck.org determined that the ad uses quotes from Webster out of context to emphasize the claims.
An earlier ad from Grayson accuses Webster of dodging the draft amid the Vietnam War. Webster received student deferments.
