Al Awda organized a protest in support of the right of Palestinians to exist. The protest was held in New York City's Times Square on Saturday, January 3 2009. Thousands of people from all groups and religions participated in the demonstration. Across the street, pro-Israeli groups gathered to condemn bombings committed by Hamas on Israeli civilians.
