The President's Schedule

This morning the President spoke with President Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal about violence in Iraq then the President had his usual meetings. The President is meeting with Prime Minister Tony Blair this morning. They will discuss Iraq, terrorism, Prime Minister Sharon's recent Middle East proposal and weapons of mass destruction. At noon, Prime Minister Blair and President Bush will be in the Rose Garden for a press conference. Then they will have lunch together. Following lunch, the President will record his radio address. At about four this evening the President will depart to Camp David.



Radio Address

The topic will be the Patriot Act.

Mr. Brahimi

Press Sectary Scott McClellan said that the President supports Mr. Brahimi's proposal and welcomes his recommendations. McClellan reaffirmed that that the transfer of sovereignty in Iraq will be in June 30th.

Sharon

The President supports Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's proposal for withdrawal in Gaza and parts of the West Bank. Press Sectary Scott McClellan said that Sharon is taking a "historic" and "bold" step towards creating a viable state.

9/11 Commission

The President is ready and waiting for the 9/11 Commission's recommendations for improving intelligence gathering.

Week Ahead

On Monday President Bush will present the Commander and Chief trophy. On Tuesday the President will be in Buffalo, New York discussing the Patriot Act. On Wednesday the President will address the 2004 state and national teachers of the year. The President will meet with the King of Jordan at the Oval Office on Thursday and then will travel to Wells, Maine to discuss Earth Day. Finally, on Friday the President will be speaking in Naples, Florida on volunteering.
