U.S. Not Focused On Making Afghanistan "A Perfect Place," Says Obama

Touting military advances that have put America in a “position of strength,” President Barack Obama announced Wednesday evening that the U.S. will withdraw 10,000 troops from Afghanistan this year, followed by 23,000 more by summer 2012.

Obama said that the U.S. is focused on ensuring the stability of the Afghan government, and not making the country “a perfect place.” (0:32)
