President George W. Bush, during a White House news conference, states the House and Senate have acted irresponsibly by adding pork to the Iraq funding, endangering the troops.

According to Bush, it has been 57 days since he has asked for emergency funds for the troops. He believes, setting an arbitrary deadline and ignoring the advice of generals to make a political statement is not wise, so he stands by his intent to veto. (0:48)
